Trillium CLT recently was awarded $150,000 for land acquisition from the Community Controlled Affordable Housing program through the NYS Office of Home and Community Renewal. This award will be used to purchase Trillium's first pilot project (more details coming soon).
The Community Controlled Affordable Housing program is an innovative state grant that aims to fund projects that give residents direct control over their housing, like in a community land trust. The program has had three rounds and Trillium has received an award each round. The first year we received $20,000 for planning. The second year we received $75,000 for pre-development, and now we have received $150,000 for acquisition. Trillium is grateful to NYS for this award and we are excited to announce project details in March 2026.
