End of 2025 Updates

2025 has been a transformational year for Trillium Community Land Trust (CLT).  We went into this year with three main objectives: build-up our non-profit capacity; engage with more community members; and select our first project sites. As we end this year, we’re excited that we have succeeded with all three goals. For our non-profit capacity, we have trained our initial Board, secured the legal, bookkeeping, and other professional supports we need, and initiated work on our long-term business plan. We have engaged with more community members through small group conversations and municipal presentations. We joined Grounded Solutions Network and the NYS CLT Coalition, and even participated in a national presentation when Vice-President Chris Brown presented at a Shelterforce Webinar. We are also thrilled to have selected our pilot projects. We will announce more details on those projects in 2026, so stay tuned!

This year, Trillium CLT joined the Hudson Valley Alliance for Housing and Conservation, an innovative collaboration of regional housing and conservation organizations. As part of this Alliance we have expanded our network in both the housing and land conservation field. We have participated in public workshops and dialogues about the synthesis between these efforts and we have worked on state and municipal policies together with other Alliance members.

2025 was the year that Trillium CLT matured from a fledgling initiative to a well-grounded non-profit. In addition to announcing our pilot projects in 2026, we plan to expand our Board, hire our first employee, begin developing our homeownership program, and create more opportunities for you, our supporters, to engage with our work.  We are deeply grateful for your support and faith in this work, and we look forward to seeing what we can accomplish in 2026.
